* We host an annual bead and jewelry show, which is usually the first weekend of October.
* We publish a quarterly newsletter.
* We have many outreach programs and import bead teachers from around the country.

The Northern Virginia Bead Society was founded in 1992 by Lorraine Morton and now has over 150 members. The purpose of the Society is to encourage the appreciation and creation of visual arts through beads and beadery. The goal of NVBS is to provide education about beads and beading techniques as well as to foster a network for the exchange of ideas on beads. NVBS is operated exclusively for charitable, social, cultural, and artistic purposes as defined by section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
